Yellow Onions:

Red Onions:

White Onions:
 
White onions have thin white skin and opaque white flesh with a slightly sweet and crisp taste. They are predominantly used in Mexican cuisine and are a staple ingredient in salsas, chutneys, and guacamole. White onions have a low sulfur content, which makes them a good choice for those who want a milder onion flavor.
 
Shallots:
 
Shallots have a delicate, sweet flavor similar to garlic and are used extensively in French cuisine. They have a milder, sweeter taste compared to yellow onions and are favored for their unique flavor in sauces and salad dressings. Shallots are smaller than onions and have a reddish-brown papery skin and white flesh with pinkish-brown rings.
 
Sweet Onions:
 
Sweet onions have a high sugar content, which makes them sweeter than other onions. These onions have a very mild and almost tasteless interior with a soft and crunchy texture. They are perfect for caramelizing and making onion rings and salads. Sweet onions can be white or yellow in color and have a slightly flattened shape.
