The New Year is a time for reflection and celebration, and nothing is more special than spending it with your family, especially your kids. New Year’s Eve is a chance to create precious memories with your children that they will cherish for years to come! While going to a fancy New Year’s Eve party or watching the ball drop in Times Square is great, sometimes, it’s better to stay in and bond with your kids over fun activities! In this blog post, I'm sharing some of our favorite activities that you and your children can do together to celebrate the New Year.

Have a Family New Year's Resolution:
Setting a family New Year’s resolution can be a lot of fun for the entire family. This is a great opportunity to reinforce positive habits together, like eating healthier or being more environmentally conscious. As a family, set a goal that you can work toward for the next year.

Create a Time Capsule:
Creating a time capsule is an excellent way to document your family's life and their growth throughout the year. Encourage your kids to write letters to their future selves, add any significant items like photographs, ticket stubs or even favorite pieces of clothing. This time capsule can be opened on New Year’s Day in the following year.

Have a Family Movie Night:
There's nothing better than snuggling up on the couch with your kids and watching a good movie. Watching a family-friendly movie can be the perfect way to relax, unwind, and spend some time together while waiting for the clock to strike midnight.

Host a Family Game Night:
Get competitive with a family game night marathon. Choose a mix of classic board games and new favorites, and let the fun begin. Make sure to have snacks, popcorn, and drinks readily available, as it can be a long night. To make it even more special, you can even create small prizes for the game winners.

Make an Impromptu Photo Booth:
Have some fun with your kids and create your own impromptu photo booth. Gather up some great props, like hats, wigs or even fake mustaches, and set up a small area. Encourage your kids to strike fun poses and snap some silly photos with you.

Celebrating New Year’s Eve with your kids can be a memorable experience. These activities can help you make the most of your family time, and you’ll have a blast creating memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you choose to have a cozy night in playing games or watch a family-friendly movie or, have a more formal family resolution, the important thing is to enjoy the time spent together. So, go ahead, pick the activities you and your kids like the most, and have a happy and harmonious New Year’s Eve bonding together!

xoxo, Melissa
