The leaves are falling, the air is crisp, and the aroma of cinnamon and pumpkin spice fills the air. Fall is slipping away quickly.  Your neighbors and your children’s friends will likely be out celebrating Halloween on October 31st.  And, as a Christian mom and wife, you may be wondering how you can make the most of this time with your family while also incorporating your faith. Luckily, there are plenty of family fall activities that can still do! In this blog post, I'll be sharing seven ideas for creating joyful fall memories with your family.

Take a Nature Walk – The fall season brings beautiful scenery, so take advantage of it by going on a family nature walk. You can explore your neighborhood, local parks or hiking trails. The crisp air will feel rejuvenating, and you'll be able to enjoy the autumn foliage.

Create leaf pressings – While you’re on your nature walk, collect different leaves from fall trees. Once you return home, you could press them and use them to create fall art projects such as leaf rubbings. This could be a great opportunity to talk about the importance of the changing seasons and how they reflect the changing phases of life.

Have a last-minute Harvest party - Hosting a harvest party is a great way to bring your church community together and celebrate the season. Consider having a potluck dinner with fall-themed dishes, games, and activities such as bobbing for apples. You could even arrange a hayride or bonfire for added fun.

Have a Backyard Bonfire – Even if you don’t have a Harvest Party Bonfire, you can still enjoy a bonfire with your family.  There's nothing quite like cozying up around a fire pit, roasting marshmallows, and telling stories. Plus, it's an excellent opportunity to teach your little ones fire safety. Make sure to keep a bucket of water nearby, and never leave the fire unattended.

Create a DIY Scavenger Hunt – Help your kids sharpen their minds by creating a fall-themed scavenger hunt. They can hunt for items like pinecones, acorns, and fall-colored leaves. There are several templates you can use online or get creative and make your own!

Bake Fall-Themed Goodies – Who doesn't love the smell of freshly-baked goodies? Bring your family together in the kitchen to bake some fall-themed treats like apple cider donuts, pumpkin spice muffins, or caramel popcorn. Not only will it be a blast, but the end result will be delicious too.

Have a Movie Night – As the nights get colder, there's nothing better than snuggling up with your loved ones and watching a movie. Make some hot cocoa and popcorn, cozy up, and enjoy.
